Dear Blog,
It has been a long time. People have even stopped asking how you are. Nobody leaves comments at your doorstep. The stoop is messy and half that column is all grey with decay. I know the words are in there, and I miss our chats but time just gets away with itself.
There has been this and that going on. You know stuff. The things that fill people’s life. Filling petrol in the car. Scrubbing mildew of the shower door. Christmases filled with ham and baby laughter. Tram number 59. Long walks in the park with a naughty dog. A giant pine tree in the corner of the living room filling the house with that smell. The fresh bunch of flowers on the bed awaiting a suitcase of dirty clothes. The first sip of red wine as you are 40,000 feet up in the air. The new sheets on the bed that feel like a baby’s bum. You know, that kind of stuff. Stuff that felt meaningless to talk about but I feel like talking about. But then people expect more, more meaningful conversation, useful insights, progress reports, blurry food photos, that kinda thing. Maybe one day, we’ll be back. For now, hello, how are you?
